The Paris Court of Appeal on Wednesday upheld initial sentence with Sarkozy being required to wear an electronic bracelet under house arrest for one year, and two years suspended.
The Court also banned him from citizenship for three years, meaning the former French president will not be able to participate in political activities for the next three years.
Sarkozy, who served as president of France from 2007 to 2012, is the country's first former president to be given a prison sentence.
He was first sentenced in March 2021 for trying to illegally obtain information from a senior magistrate in 2014 about an ongoing investigation into his campaign finances.
