Nguyen Hong Ky, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Union, said the Nghe An provincial People's Committee has directed the Union to promote Nghe An internationally, act as a bridge between Nghe An and foreign friends, showcase Nghe An’s culture, tourism potential, and people, and foster cultural exchanges to boost Nghe An’s socio-economic development.
Ky said: "The provincial Party Committee has created a legal framework that allows the Union to promote tourism across the province, including the western region of Nghe An, and organize tours to introduce the OCOP and tourism products of the province’s ethnic minorities. The Union is also advancing digitalization, technology, and green economy initiatives, and showcasing Nghe An’s resources and cultural identity. We hope to attract domestic and foreign visitors to our green tourism models, such as the production of brocade weaving by the Thai ethnic group in Chau Tien commune."
The Union and its members have maintained international cooperation and expanded connections to new foreign organizations, businesses, and individuals and overseas Vietnamese.
The Union has also held meetings and working sessions with the embassies of the US, Turkey, Japan, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Southeast Asian countries to promote people-to-people diplomacy and cultural and educational exchange, and explore opportunities for non-governmental aid and investment cooperation.
This year, the Union and its partners mobilized hundreds of thousands of dollars to build 30 houses and classrooms and provide 2,000 scholarships and Tet gifts to disadvantaged communities.
