Speaking at the New Year gong beating ceremony at the Ha Noi Stock Exchange on Wednesday, he said the Vietnamese stock market has been considered the most successful in Southeast Asia in terms of capital mobilization. The stock market capitalization has reached nearly 170 billion USD, a 10% increase over 2017, equivalent to over 70% of GDP, a target earlier set for 2020. Finance Minister Dung said his Ministry will improve transparency, market surveillance and management to protect investors’ interests, while enhancing intermediary organizations’ capacity.
