Ban Thi Oanh, a prestigious ethnic minority person from Bac Kan, said, “I always lead the way in movements to disseminate the State's policies and incentives for people to understand that outdated customs should be eliminated. Meanwhile we need to preserve and promote other customs to preserve our identity.”

According to the NA Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, this year Vietnam identified 28,500 prestigious people in ethnic minority groups such as the Tay, Thai, Mong, Muong, Ede, and Bana.

These are individuals who have encouraged their peers to comply with Party guidelines and State policies, particularly policies on ethnicity and religious affairs.
