Naval Region 5 Command organizes Tet visits to southwestern islands

(VOVWORLD) - The Naval Region 5 Command in Phu Quoc city on Monday held a Lunar New Year gathering with a delegation who will pay a visit to officers, soldiers, and people living on Vietnam’s southwestern islands.

Political Commissar Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity extended to the officers and soldiers, which he said has been a source of moral encouragement fostering a sense of security and enabling them to effectively fulfill their duties.

Dang Van Chinh, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, speaking on behalf of the delegation of 10 southern provinces and cities, Agribank, businesses, youths, leaders, and reporters of central and local press agencies, emphasized the commitment of localities to advocate for activities benefiting Vietnam’s sea and islands.

They aim to provide meaningful and practical support to inspire officers and soldiers to excel in their duties, thereby contributing to the steadfast protection of the nation's sea and island sovereignty, Chinh said.

On this occasion, localities, Agribank, Vietnam Sea Magazine, and the Youth for the Sea and Homeland Islands Club presented generous gifts to the officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command.

Representatives of the Naval Region 5 Command visited and delivered Tet greetings to troops and people residing on the islands of Tho Chu, Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi, Nam Du, and Hon Doc.
