High on the agenda will be strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing global threats and challenges.

Stoltenberg’s visit aims to help NATO tighten its relationship with US allies in Asia.

Last June in Madrid, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese PM Kishida Fumio became the first Asian leaders to attend a NATO summit as observers, where NATO adopted a “new strategic concept” in which the Indo-Pacific region is deemed extremely important to the organization.
