According to Afghanistan authorities, four policemen and two civilians were killed in a NATO air raid on Wednesday targeting Taliban gunmen in Ghazni province. A NATO air crew conducted the air raid in pursuit of Taliban rebels who had attacked a local police station in Dayak district. NATO is reviewing the incident. Last week two Afghan civilians died in similar air raids targeting Spandeh, an urban area of Ghazni. Civilians killed in NATO attacks have provoked strong criticism in Afghanistan. In February, after 10 civilians died in a NATO air raid, Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai forbade Afghanistan’s security force to ask for further help from NATO. It is unclear if this order has been followed.
