Speaking at the conference on Friday, Deputy Minister Pham Quy Ngo reiterated the Vietnamese government’s efforts on institutional building to prevent and combat crimes. Vietnam has signed 17 treaties and cooperation agreements on crime control. It has become one of eight countries piloting a joint cooperation plan with the United Nations. Deputy Minister Ngo: “This event will boost exchanges of information and experience in anti-crime cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies, especially the UN and other international organizations. We believe that the UN experience and support from partner organizations will ensure Vietnam’s successful implementation of the set targets.”
