(VOVworld) – The 16 best performances of folk songs that won at regional festivals were selected for the final of the 2015 Vietnam National Folk Song Festival which concluded in the central province of Nghe An on Thursday.

The biennial event aims to discover and preserve regional folk songs, folk dances, and folk musical instruments and introduce them to a nationwide audience.
It also aims to discover and foster new and promising talents to give folk music greater contemporary relevance.
This year’s festival, the 6th honored the cultural treasures of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.
The organizing board presented 10 A prizes and six B prizes for the most outstanding performances and gave awards to the most impressive artist, the oldest artist, and the youngest artists.
