(VOVworld) – A ceremony to hoist the national flag on the 184-Haiphong and 185-Khanh Hoa submarines was held at Cam Ranh sea port on August 1.

The submarines are the third and fourth of the six Kilo-class submarines that Vietnam purchased from Russia to modernise its navy and enhance its capacity to defend the country’s territorial waters.
Naval Commander, Rear Admiral Pham Hoai Nam said it has realized the Vietnamese Party and State’s strategic views in protecting national sovereignty of sea and islands in the new period.
