By June 5 this year, 74,400 community digital technology teams were established, with about 348,000 participants to help faster digital transformation. In the first half of the year, the Ministry requested Facebook, Google, and Youtube to remove infringing accounts and toxic content in Vietnam and more than 90% of infringement cases were dealt with, the highest rate ever.
Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, said, "For the first time, the highest response rate was reported and the absolute number of malicious content on cross-border platforms such as Facebook, Youtube, and Tik Tok also reached the highest level ever."
"In the past six months, for the first time, a process of handling malicious content has been implemented at a higher level for urgent and special situations affecting national security. Cross-border platforms using automated AI processes has been applied successfully.”
The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said it will continue to work with Apple on removing infringing games and applications in Vietnam. It keeps working with Facebook, Google, and Tik Tok to prevent toxic information on cross-border social networks.
The Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to support relevant units to step up digital transformation, connect and share data, and improve institutional and smart urban areas policies as well as online public services.
