(VOVworld) – Cabinet members began to answer National Assembly deputies’ questions at the 13th NA’s ninth session in Hanoi on Thursday.

Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology, and Education and Training are scheduled to join the Q&A sessions.

Following the Q&A session, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will provide additional information regarding the Government’s performance and directly answer deputies’ queries.

The two-and-a half-day Q&A session will be broadcast live by Radio the Voice of Vietnam and the Vietnam Television.

The session began with reports on supervision of responses to voters' requests submitted to the 8^th session, most of which covered a majority of society’s aspects and were sent to relevant agencies for settlement.

All requests had been processed prior to the beginning of the ninth session.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat then briefed deputies solutions to ensure agricultural and seafood product outputs and policies to boost farmers’ production.

He said the government guidance has been provided to farmers in production process, competitive breeds and plants to ensure market outlets.

One of major solutions to help farmers is to re-arrange production, set up production teams, systems of logistic services and product processing to directly purchase and collect farmers’ produce.

Minister Phat explained the linkages among the State, scientists, businesses, and farmers in agricultural development:

“Businesses should play a key role in agricultural linkage. But it’s necessary to establish production teams or cooperatives to act as intermediary between enterprises and farmers. The third key factor is local government at all levels. They should establish steering committees to boost agricultural connectivity.”

The Minister underlined the need to advance post-harvest preservation and processing techniques while identifying suitable animal breeds and plant varieties.

The same day, Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung also clarified issues relating to the agricultural sector.
