Ha underscored National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s visits to major partners, strategic partners, comprehensive strategic partners, and traditional friends in both Latin America and Africa.

Last April, the top legislator paid an official visit to Cuba, reaffirming the special solidarity, friendship, and faithful exemplary relationship between Vietnam and Cuba. Next, the official visits to Argentina, which has a Comprehensive Partnership with Vietnam and Uruguay, a Traditional Partner of Friendship and Solidarity, were of utmost importance in the South American region as they helped develop Vietnam’s relationship with this region.

Regarding neighboring countries, the National Assembly Chairman visited and worked in Laos, attended the first Summit of the National Assembly of Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam, and visited Thailand.

He also paid official visits to Bangladesh and Bulgaria.

At multilateral forums, Chairman Hue attended the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Indonesia. Another major foreign policy activity last year was the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians hosted by the Vietnamese National Assembly, which affirmed Vietnam’s active, proactive and responsible participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Chairman of the Committee for External Relations Vu Hai Ha said that this year foreign affairs activities of the legislature need to proactively capitalize on the relationship frameworks established last year, to ensure a peaceful and stable environment to serve national development.
