At a program jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Binh Duong authorities, Mr. Hue said the Party, State, and National Assembly have worked to control the pandemic, restore economic and social development, and support workers and businesses.

During the recent period of social distancing, Vietnam's tradition of benevolence was demonstrated, he said, praising Binh Duong’s efforts to take care of its workers.

This year half of Binh Duong’s workers, about half a million people, will stay in the province to celebrate Tet, the lunar New Year Festival.

“With donations from organizations and private benefactors, Binh Duong province has found ways to support both those workers who are staying and those who are returning to their hometown. We must pay attention to housing, schools, health care facilities, preventive medicine, and grassroots health care, so as to improve the lives of the workers,” said Mr. Hue.

On Sunday afternoon, Chairman Hue worked with the leaders of Binh Duong province, visited the family of former President Nguyen Minh Triet, and gave Tet gifts to employees of the Wanek Binh Duong Company.
