NA’s 7th session closes, accomplishes heaviest legislative workload of current term

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly is a great success as after 27 and a half working days it has completed the heaviest amount of legislative work since the beginning of the term.

At the session’s closing ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday, attended by President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Man said that with a high approval rate, the National Assembly passed 11 laws as well as considered and approved 21 resolutions, including three legal resolutions.

He called for the newly-approved laws and resolutions to be enforced, saying “The National Assembly requests the Government, National Assembly agencies, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit, and competent agencies and organizations to focus on directing and thoroughly understanding, and implementing urgently and effectively the laws and resolutions just passed by the 7th Session to meet the requirements and tasks of socio-economic development and ensure national defense, security and foreign affairs of the country."

"Simultaneously, we request continued study and proactive and prompt preparation of contents to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and approval at the upcoming 8th Session,” Mr. Man said.

The National Assembly Chairman commented on personnel work. Personnel work was carried out strictly in accordance with Party regulations and State laws. The National Assembly elected the President, Chairman of the National Assembly, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee."

"It approved the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security, approved members of the National Defense and Security Council, and conducted other personnel work according to authority and achieved high consensus among deputies,” according to Chairman Man. 

Deputies spent two and a half days questioning three ministers and the state auditor general about four areas, including natural resources and environment; industry and trade; culture-sport-tourism; and State audit.

According to Chairman Man, this year is pivotal in undertaking the tasks of the entire 2021-2026 term. With new confidence and momentum, he expressed his belief that Vietnam will overcome challenges and achieve the highest socio-economic development goals in 2024, contributing to the successful implementation of the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution.
