(VOVworld) – NA deputies today debated ways to prevent law-breakers and crimes. Deputies said that the increasing number of legal violations and crimes are worrying the public and called for more drastic measures to drive back social evils and consolidate people’s confidence. Luu Thi Huyen, a deputy from Ninh Binh province, says ‘We should involve the entire political system, the Party, and the people in combating law-breakers, boosting movements to call on the public to protect national security, upholding community self-management, and building links among residential areas to ensure social order and security. We should consider increasing the number of police and make them the core of social order protection at the grass roots level.

NA deputies discussed the activities of the Head of the People’s Supreme Procuracy, the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, and judgement enforcement. They underlined the need to speed up the settlement of suspended sentences.

NA deputies  discussed anti-corruption and crime prevention. They emphasized the need to ensure democracy, openness and transparency, especially in the disclosure of assets by state officials. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the fight against corruption must be a constant effort by the whole political system and the society:“We must continue finetuning policies and mechanism in corruption control. Salary policy for public servants must be improved and meeting their minimum life demand. Investigation and prosecution of corruption cases must be accelerated while public’s supervision on anti-corruption should be strengthened.”
