In the afternoon, the deputies debated the revised Law on the Organization of the People’s Procuracy.

The ongoing 8th session of the 13th National Assembly

This week the National Assembly will examine the socio-economic situation and state budget in 2014 and discuss next year’s tasks and state budget estimate. The deputies will continue to debate revised laws on the Issuance of legal documents, births, deaths and marriages, citizen identification, Vietnam’s Civil Aviation, and the State Budget. 

National Assembly deputies on Monday heard a report on the revised Law on the Organization of the People's Procuracy. The revised law was submitted and debated at the previous session. At their discussion, the drafting committee decided to maintain the current regulations on the authority of the People’s Procuracy in prosecution, such as requiring, canceling, or approving the prosecution decisions by the investigation agencies.

Also on Monday, deputies gave opinions on the revised Law on the Organization of the People's Court. The majority of deputies agreed with the court’s mission of protecting justice, human and citizen rights, the socialist regime, state interests, and the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organizations. A report on the revised Civil Code was also presented.
