(VOV) - NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) President Abdelwahad Radi on Sunday. At the meeting, Chairman Hung expressed his belief that the 132nd IPU General Assembly will be a success. He thanked President Radi for his support for Vietnam in hosting the 132
nd IPU General Assembly next March. He said the Assembly’s proposed theme - Parliaments and realization of post-2015 sustainable development - will offer parliaments a chance to share their views and priorities concerning development after 2015.

Radi applauded Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements of the past years, attributing them to the efforts of the Vietnamese National Assembly. He hailed Vietnam’s preparation for the 2015 IPU meeting and said he believes the success of the event will help elevate the IPU’s profile globally.
After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a document on the organization of the 132nd IPU General Assembly and related meetings in 2015.
