The visit aims to enhance cooperation between the Vietnamese NA and Singapore’s Parliament, and strengthen the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership.

Singapore is a key partner of Vietnam in the region. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1973 and the strategic partnership in 2013, the two countries have enjoyed fruitful relations, which are solidified by political trust and close trade and investment cooperation.

In the first nine months of 2024, two-way trade reached 7.6 billion USD, up 12.5% from the same period of 2023. Singapore is Vietnam's fourth-largest trading partner in ASEAN, with over 3,800 active projects and total investment capital exceeding 81 billion USD. Singapore currently ranks second among 145 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Vietnam has 153 active investment projects in Singapore, with registered capital totaling 690 million USD. These projects focus on science and technology, wholesale and retail, information and communications, real estate, and processing and manufacturing industries.
