The ceremony to mourn former Party leader Le Kha Phieu in the Vietnamese Embassy in the US |
On Friday, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US solemnly organized a ceremony to mourn former Party leader Le Kha Phieu. Condolences were sent from representatives of authority organizations, US Congress, and diplomatic missions, business associations, non-governmental organizations, and Vietnamese people in Washington DC. Reed Werner, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, expressed appreciation for former Party leader Le Kha Phieu, saying he helped direct Vietnam-US defense ties since the two countries normalized their relationship. Congressman Ted Yoho of Florida praised Mr. Phieu’s contribution to bilateral ties.
