(VOVworld) – Around 1.6 million tons of fish are expected to be caught between April and November this year. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced measures to support fishermen.

The Ministry is transferring technology to help fishermen effectively exploit seafood, reduce loss after fishing, and assure the safety of fishing vessels. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam said: “We should take advantage of a late El Nino from April to July to fish effectively. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has given fishermen some advanced technology to increase their productivity”.
