Doan Mau Diep, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs and President of the National Wage Council, said: “Living standards should improve along with national development. The wage increase will support a minimum living standard for workers. When workers get higher wages, they can buy better social insurance and their pension will be higher in the future.’

Vietnam is divided into four regions of varying economic development.
