(VOVworld) - The 2014 Mekong Delta Economic Cooperation Forum (MDEC) closed in Soc Trang province on Friday after 3 days of plentiful events. The eighth MDEC focused on restructuring agriculture and modernizing rural areas in the delta. On this occasion, commercial banks and businesses contributed a total of 24 million USD to social welfare funds. Approximately 67 projects on agriculture and rural development were introduced at the forum and a series of memoranda of understanding on investment in Soc Trang province were signed with a total capital of more than 2.8 billion USD.
