Four bombings in Pakistan on Thursday killed 116 people and wounded 235. Three bomb attacks occurred in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan, which has long faced the instability due to ethnic conflicts. This is the bloodiest attack in Baluchistan since a car bombing on December 30, 2012, killed 19 Shiite Muslims on a pilgrimage to Iran. Shiite Muslims comprise 20% of the 180 million people in Pakistan. They say their community is becoming a frequent target attacks by Sunni extremists.
