(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in HCM city on Sunday to mark Malta’s 50th Independence Day and 40 years of Vietnam-Malta diplomatic relations. Huynh Trung Nam, Malta’s Honorary Consul in HCM city, said bilateral relations have reached a new level, particularly in the areas of economics, trade, investment, finance, and tourism.

In the last 2 years, several business exchanges have been held, and a senior delegation of the Vietnamese government will visit Malta in November. Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Manh Ha said the city will create the best possible conditions for Maltese businesses to invest there: “Malta is a gateway to Europe and Africa, while Vietnam is an entry point to Southeast Asia. I believe that cooperation between Malta and Vietnam will continue to prosper.”
Malta was among the first European countries to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam.
