The ship will set sail on August 4 the Defence Minister said after launching the MH370 Photo Exhibition on Sunday.

Hussein said the Royal Malaysian Navy vessel KD Mutiara which has the capability of a multi-beam echo sounder, will join search efforts to assist the current bathymetric survey process. The ship will set sail on August 4. Petronas Corporation will immediately deploy a Prosas Side Scan Sonar, mounted on a mother vessel, to join the search.

The Malaysia Airliner Boeing 777 carrying 239 passengers and crew went missing on March 8 while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
