Mr. Phuc said that the targets stated in the resolution should convey the Government’s determination to make breakthroughs and encourage innovation. He added that ideas should continue to be gathered from ministries, sectors, and the community for the final version of the resolution.

Prime Minister Phuc underscored the importance of a resolution on improving the business environment and national competitiveness in 2019. He said this Resolution and Resolution 1 should be promulgated early next year.

He said macro-economic stability and positive outlook should be a focus of the Government.

He highlighted the need to continue restructuring the state budget to ensure effective investment and expenditure and closely control waste and asked ministries, sectors, and localities to make disbursement on schedule.

Mr. Phuc underscored the need to control inflation, promote e-payment, build a national database, and spur the growth of Vietnam’s technology firms.
