The logo, designed with motifs and colors representative of ASEAN and New Zealand, conveys a message of strength, resilience, solidarity, mutual trust, and respect, which form the foundation of the relationship.
Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, Vietnam's permanent representative to ASEAN, said that 2025 holds special significance as Vietnam will collaborate with other nations to organize a summit celebrating 50 years of the ASEAN-New Zealand partnership.
“Vietnam is working on New Zealand’s proposal to establish a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with ASEAN, which will be presented for consideration at the upcoming ASEAN Summit,” she said.
At the same time, Vietnam is working with other nations to develop and adopt the ASEAN-New Zealand Action Plan for the 2026–2030 period, actively contributing alongside other ASEAN members and New Zealand to achieve the most substantive and effective outcomes for the 50th anniversary, according to Ambassador Huong.
The same day, Ms. Huong met with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn and delivered a letter from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, inviting Kao to attend the ASEAN Future Forum 2025, which will be held in Hanoi.
