Localities to complete COVID vaccination for children in August

(VOVWORLD) -The COVID-19 vaccination campaign for children aged 5 to under 12 is set to be finished by August across Vietnam to create herd immunity before the new school year begins, according to the expanded immunization program.

Nearly 1.6 million doses of the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine have so far been given to children of this age group in 63 provinces and cities.

The rate of post-injection reaction for this age group in Vietnam is 5%, much lower than what the manufacturer and the World Health Organization anticipated.
