(VOVworld) – Hanoi has allocated more than 2.4 million USD of its budget to give 127,000 gifts to beneficiaries and people who take care of beneficiaries as part of activities to commemorate the 69th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

On this occasion, Hanoi youths lit candles at city cemeteries and delivered gifts to the families of beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors. Free examination, treatment, and medicine are provided for 1,000 disadvantaged people, beneficiaries, and revolutionary contributors. An art performance called “Legend of Uncle Ho’s soldiers” was held in Hanoi on Wednesday to honor heroic mothers, martyrs, and war invalids.
The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee organized a music program at the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery. Thousands of youths burned incense, lit candles, and placed flowers to pay tribute to martyrs. Tran Xuan Anh is Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union: “Quang Tri youth marked the 69th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day by tidying graves at provincial cemeteries, delivering gifts to beneficiaries, and building charity houses.”
In Hau Giang province, authorities visited martyrs’ cemeteries, held get-togethers, and donated gifts to beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors.
Until August 1st Quang Nam province will be exhibiting pictures and documents of Vietnam’s resistance wars which accurately reflect the life of soldiers during the war.
