Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said the Great Victory of Spring 1975 is a glorious feat of arms of Vietnamese army and people led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and a great turning point that led Vietnam to a new era of building a strong country, wealthy people, fairness, independence, and socialism.

Mr. Nhan said the municipal Party Committee will constantly reform itself for innovation and development for the whole country and people’s happiness.

He added: “The city will continue to take on its role as a locomotive of the national economy, take the lead in implementing new growth model in a new period. Efforts should be made for sustainable development on the basis of scientific and technological application, striving to become Vietnam’s largest hub of start-ups and innovation. Economy and society must be developed harmoniously, environment must be protected, and people’s strength and aspirations are kindled.”
