Reuse helps lengthen a product’s life cycle, thus addressing material recycling and reducing waste.

Manh said e-commerce including the Internet of Things (IoT) is promoting the purchase of second-hand products.

The seminar suggested that Vietnam issue a system of standards and regulations on reuse, with specific identification for each type of products so that consumers can access and understand it.

It’s also necessary to encourage the adoption of digital transformation solutions, business models based on digital platforms to reduce waste, promote reuse, and solid waste classification, collection, transportation, recycling and treatment.

The Vietnam Zero Waste Alliance has also launched a movement called "Bring me to a new home instead" to connect those who want to give away used items with those who need them, to reduce the amount of waste littered into the environment.
