Naturally talented and creative Roberto succeeded in becoming a globally recognised name, said an official statement on Cavalli's Instagram.
Cavalli developed an innovative technique of printing on leather and sand-blasted jeans, inspiring fashion giants like Hermes and Pierre Cardin to incorporate the technique into their products.
From the 1990s to early 2000s, Cavalli expanded his reach in the fashion industry with his own brands of under garments, eyewear, perfumes, and restaurants.
Roberto Cavalli, born in November 15, 1940, passed away in Florence, Italy, the world's capital of leather. His funeral will be held on Monday.
