National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man told the discussion: “The draft law should include provisions to encourage private investment and public–private partnership (PPP) models, especially for local and specialized airports. Currently, the State remains the key investor in essential infrastructure projects, which leads to budget burden."
"It’s necessary to have incentives on tariff, land, and approval procedures for domestic and foreign investors, while ensuring equal access to flight routes and aviation services among airlines,” he added.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the government set criteria to select investors and the law add supervision provisions to prevent monopolies.

Vietnam now has 10 international and 12 domestic airports and aims for 33 airports by 2050.
