Director of the Economic Cooperation and Rural Development Department of the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development Tang Minh Loc said that in the ongoing winter – spring crop, 21 provinces and cities there have registered to apply this technique covering a total area of more than 76,500 hectares, up 50,000 ha against the previous crop. He said ‘The model was first launched in An Giang province then applied across the region. To date, more than 40 provinces and cities nationwide have followed suit. It means it has cleared the worries of many localities about how to boost agricultural production. As a result, after a short period of time, it has been widely spread.

Under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s plan, about 200,000 ha will be reserved for growing bigger fields of rice next winter-spring crop. It also plans to develop the model towards setting up a rice material growing zone and building a brand for the Vietnamese rice.
