(VOVworld) – Laos’s Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith left HCM city on Tuesday after a friendly visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. During the visit, he held talks with Prime Minister Phuc and paid courtesy visits to Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
The Lao Prime Minister and Vietnamese leaders pledged to develop the two countries’ special solidarity and cooperation in politics, diplomacy, security, national defense, economics, trade, and investment. They also agreed to instruct ministries and localities to implement the 2016 cooperation plan between the two governments, the 2016-2020 bilateral cooperation agreement, and the protocol on defense and security cooperation for the 2016-2020 period. The two prime ministers witnessed the signing of a number of agreements between Vietnamese and Laotian ministries and localities.
