On September 10 a powerful flash flood swept through Lang Nu village, burying the entire area. The disaster claimed the lives of 60 people, 7 others are still missing.

The project, which is finalized 15 days ahead of schedule, was built by Army Corps 12 of Truong Son Construction Corporation. Each solid stilt house of the Tay ethnic architecture is 96 square meters wide and has auxiliary buildings and vegetable gardens on the side or at the back. Lang Nu village cultural house and the landslide area about 3 km from the resettlement site will become a memorial place.

At the handover ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, applauded the sense of responsibility of the construction units and expressed his belief that the Lang Nu residents will soon overcome the pain and stabilize a new life.
