According to the General Statistics Office, more than 28.2 million Vietnamese people aged 15 and above were affected by the pandemic in the third quarter of 2021.

In the face of complicated developments from the virus, the Party and State have introduced a series of timely measures to cope with the pandemic, promote economic growth and ensure social security.

MOLISA Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh said the government has spent nearly 1.2 billion USD to support over 27.6 million people.

“First, we need to efficiently carry out pandemic control measures while supporting workers and businesses facing difficulties. Credit and fiscal support solutions, including the extension of tax and fee payment, debt restructuring, lowering interest rates should be promoted to enhance credit access for business recovery. Other solutions should promote highly skilled workforce to adapt to the digital economy,” Mr. Thanh said.
