(VOVworld) – South Korean President Park Geun-Hye has claimed responsibility for the government’s inability to respond properly to the Sewol ferry disaster a month ago. In a televised speech on Monday, President Park said she would dismantle the country's coast guard because it had failed to carry out the rescue operation efficiently. She conveyed an emotional apology to all the South Korean people.

The President has four times apologized for the accident but this has been the first time she accepted personal responsibility.
