The Trung Nam – Sideros River consortium, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, is the only one bidder that has submitted documents.

The project, located in Ca Na commune, includes a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant using liquefied natural gas (LNG) with a capacity of 1,500 MW; an LNG port and storage system capable of receiving 1–1.2 million tons per year; a breakwater dyke system; and supporting technical infrastructure.

According to Ho Xuan Ninh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade, the Ca Na LNG project is a “bright spot” in the province’s energy development plans. Once operational, it will diversify local energy sources, make a major contribution to annual power output, and help ensure national energy security.

The plant is expected to be in operation by 2030.
