Kalmaegi is forecast to be the strongest storm in the East Sea to hit Vietnam’s central and south-central regions since the beginning of this year. The dispatch ordered all boats, aquaculture cages and vehicles at sea to urgently move to safe shelters Wednesday afternoon. All activities at sea must be suspended from 12 noon Thursday until the storm dissipates.
The Department of Education and Training was instructed to let students take two days off from school on Thursday and Friday, and to proactively plan make-up classes. The tourism sector shall coordinate with localities to support and guide tourists to leave sea and island areas, ensuring absolute safety.
