(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) fell in July for the second consecutive month, leaving the current price average slightly higher than at the end of 2011, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported.

The overall inflation rate for the first 7 months of the year was 2.22%. The sharpest price decline was seen in transportation and construction materials. Drugs and healthcare service fees rose the most - 3.36% - followed by tobacco, education, and entertainment. The gold price and USD index fell slightly.
