Japanese and US militaries teamed up for a number of joint exercises involving warships, heavy bombers, advanced fighter jets and an aircraft carrier, including F-15 and F-35B fighter jets, B-1 heavy strategic bombers, and AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System).
The Japanese Defense Ministry said the drills did not target any country.
