(VOVworld) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Japan will push ahead with its global cooperation on security. At a meeting with a Council of high-ranking military officials and 180 officials from the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) on Thursday, Abe affirmed the importance of a security law adopted in September.

He said that Japan should expand the functions of the JSDF to protect the Japanese people while engaging in global security. He said in the face of a fierce security situation, the JSDF has to resolve security threats and expand its overseas tasks.
