(VOVworld)- Japan will provide more than 455,000 USD in non-refundable aid in the second phase of a mother and infant health care project in the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien. An agreement to this effect was signed in Hanoi on Monday by Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Fukuada Hiroshi and Supervisor of the World Vision Japan Project Maha Miura. Funding for the project will be provided through the Japanese non-governmental organization World Vision Japan. Since 2012, the Japanese government and World Vision Japan have cooperated with the Ministry of Health and Dien Bien province’s Department of Health in upgrading local healthcare centers, enhancing access to free healthcare services, and reducing the fatality rate of mothers and infants.
