(VOVworld) - Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Chairman Vu Xuan Hong has conferred the Friendship Order to Italian Renato Darsie under the State Presidency’s authorization. He was the former Chairman of Italy – Vietnam Friendship Association in Veneto and member of the local communist party’s executive committee. The conferment is in recognition of his contribution to the anti- Vietnam War movement and humanitarian activities for orphans and people with disabilities in Vietnam. Mr Darsie was speaking during his reception of the friendship order:“The honor is not for myself only but the Vietnamese people and their bright examples of braveness and stanchness in the struggle for national independence. We shared the joy of Vietnamese people during the April 30, 1975 victory as well as Vietnam’s recent progress in economic development.”
