(VOVworld) - Israeli police and Palestinians clashed on Sunday at Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque compound, where violence in recent weeks has raised international concern. Palestinian youths, chanting "God is great", threw rocks at police who fired rubber bullets to disperse the crowds. Calm is reported to have been restored. Clashes between Palestinian protestors and Israeli forces erupted on September 13th, resulting in many injuries and dozens of Palestinians arrested. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for regulations that would allow policemen to use real bullets. Palestinians decried the move and accused Israel of violating international law.
