Haim Katz is the first Israeli minister to head an official delegation in Saudi Arabia. The visit comes amid talks between the two countries to normalize relations, according to the statement.

Katz will attend a conference sponsored by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) during his two-day visit. He is also expected to have meetings with his counterparts but no specific countries have been confirmed yet.

Saudi Arabia and Israel are working to normalize relations but have not reached an agreement on an independent Palestinian State.
