The latest tensions in Jerusalem come as all three Abrahamic faiths mark major festivals: Jewish Passover, Christian Easter and the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. The violence wounded some 150 Palestinians and 120 Israelis.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry on Sunday warned that Israel’s continuous steps to change the historical and legal status quo at Al Aqsa Mosque represents “a dangerous escalation and a condemned breach of the international law”.  Ministry Spokesperson Haitham Abul Foul stressed that Israel bears “full responsibility for the dangerous repercussions of this escalation.”

On the same day, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attack on Palestinians. The Sudanese ministry, in a statement, called on the international community to carry out its duty and hold the Israeli government fully responsible for the repercussions of the continuation of such activities.
