This latest toll brought the total number of Palestinian deaths since the outbreak of conflict on October 7, 2023, to over 58,000, the majority of whom were women and children.

The Israeli military has not commented on the latest casualties in Gaza, but the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said Monday that the Israeli Air Force hit more than 100 targets in Gaza on Sunday.

The Israeli military carried out a strike on Monday against several tanks near the village of Sami in the Sweida area of southern Syria. Defense Minister Israel Katz says the strike was “a clear warning to the Syrian regime that we will not permit harm to the Druze in Syria”.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani condemned the attack, insisting that addressing ethnic violence inside Syria is the responsibility of the Syrian government.
